UNEXPECTED SUMMER GINGHAM
I will always be a stripe and polka dot girl at heart, but when summer hits, I am all about gingham (seen here and here). This season, I am delighted to see one of my favorite patterns for lighter weight fabrics available in so many unexpected silhouettes. Exaggerated and placed bows, ruffles, wide-legs, summer slides, and multicolored are just a few of the fabulous details that are upping the attitude of gingham. Generally more preppy and relaxed in nature, this new wave of gingham reads more forward, fashion, and upbeat, while still holding firm that link back to its traditional roots. I hope you can find new and updated ways to wear an old favorite pattern this summer! Below are eight of my current favorites.
