FIVE WEAR NOW DRESSES, FIVE TO WEAR LATER

Dress: Zimmermann (also comes in a shorter version here) // Boots: Paris Texas // Bag: Chanel (vintage)

Ahhhh, it’s that wonderful time of year when it is still sweltering hot but all the new arrivals are chunky sweaters, knee high boots, and cozy coats. I am actually not ready to let go of summer quiet yet. I love it all – THE HEAT, POOL DAYS, LATE SUNSETS – but if you have been following me for some time, you know fall is my favorite season when it comes to fashion. I am an avid coat collector, love layering and have a thing for tights so layering season is by far my favorite season for styling. Below I am highlighting a few dresses from the best of both worlds, wear now dresses for the end of summer (hopefully for like the next 8 weeks) and dresses to wear later as we head into fall.

WEAR NOW DRESSES

A WHITE TIE FRONT DRESS

I love an easy white maxi for the end of summer. I would add a touch of color to complete the look with this headband and these sandals.

A STRUCTURED PRINTED DRESS

I am loving the pretty palm print on this structured bodice dress. At under $300 it looks much more expensive. It would pair perfectly with these heart earrings.

A BOLD BLOCK PRINT DRESS

Pretty in pink! The scalloped edges and bow straps make this block printed dress one of the sweetest pieces. Perfect with a straw tote.

A FUN FLORAL DRESS

Can’t you tell that I am into tie front dresses and palm prints at the moment? This bold tropical print is cut from a lightweight crepe fabric and features a front snap closure and three quarter sleeves.

A TIERED COTTON DRESS

Smocked with tiers and pom pom details, this dress has it all! While it reads like a neutral from afar, the frill details emerge when you look up close.

FALL FORWARD DRESSES

A STRIPED JERSEY DRESS

You know I can’t resist a stripe! This brown and cream number would look great back to these boots and this fall coat.

A GEOMETRIC DRESS

I’m falling hard for anything geometric and western inspired for fall. A few cowboy-like boot picks here and here to pair back to this dress.

AN ASYMMETRIC DRESS

A.W.A.K.E. Mode continues to impress me with their innovative silhouettes. I’m loving how this style marries the volume of the skirt with the volume of the sleeves!

AN OVERSIZED BALLOON SLEEVE DRESS

This is one of my go-to dress silhouettes – as witnessed here and here. This jacquard dress would look amazing with these statement earrings!

A STUNNING PRINTED GOWN

Saving the best for last! This dress is one of my all-time favorites for fall. I remember seeing it walk the runway and immediately fell in love. Fall wedding guest approved!
