ABOUT VINEYARD VINES WOMEN’S

Vineyard Vines was started in 1998 by brothers Shep and Ian who quit their corporate jobs to build a fashion empire. The brand is based on the slogan ‘Every Day Should Feel This Good’ with a preppy, fun whale as their signature logo. In the early aughts, the brand was focused on menswear and their staple item was silk ties. However, in the past few decades, they have expanded to include Vineyard Vines women’s and children’s collections as well. They have also broadened the brand from everyday casual staples to a full wardrobe that can fit your entire lifestyle.

VINEYARD VINES FALL CLOTHING

Vineyard Vines is known for their classics such as their signature half-zip and whale tote. And their fall collection is no exception! Their new arrivals include so many great staples – this cable knit sweater and these kick flare cords to start. But it doesn’t stop at the classics. I’m swooning over their incredible fashion pieces like this cricket sweater and this silk dress! You can also find wide-leg khakis, satin slip dresses, and pearl drop earrings to complete any fall outfit.

The Vineyard Vines autumn color palette for women consists of classics like navy and cream and also some very fun pops of color. This cocktail sauce reddish-orange shade and this British racing green color are tugging at my heartstrings!

HOW TO LAYER FOR COLD WEATHER

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I have a soft spot for layering clothing. Layering blazers and coats over tops, draping sweaters over my shoulders, stacking different shades of the same color…I love it all! And it’s not just during the fall, but I’m all about year-round layering (unless it’s miserably hot!) I think layers provide an easy way to add color and dimension to an outfit. Of course, in the cooler months, they also keep you warm!

So when I got my hands on these Vineyard Vines new arrivals for women, I couldn’t resist putting together some layered looks for fall. And since the season is quickly approaching, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite tips on how to layer for cold weather. Because even during the fall and winter months, it’s more than possible to stay cozy while keeping fashionable!

1. BRIGHT & COLORFUL SOCKS

Adding bright and colorful socks is such a fun (and affordable!) way to keep warm with a pop of color. You can layer these under heels with dresses or under loafers with jeans or pants.

2. AN OVER-THE-SHOULDER COAT

This is a no-brainer, easy option! Basically, any time I leave home and it’s cool outside, you’ll see me with a coat on or layered over my shoulders. Additionally, you could sub a coat for a blazer for a lightweight option.

3. COLLARS AND CUFFS

How to layer a collared top for cold weather? Utilize the collar and cuff for contrast! Seeing peeks of these pieces layered under a sweater instantly elevates the look.

4. PROTECT YOUR NECK

Add a turtleneck for an unfussy upgrade. There are so many ways to do this – layer one under a nap dress, a sweater, or a blazer. And don’t be afraid to layer a turtleneck under an oxford, as I did with the Vineyard Vines’ new arrivals!

5. STAY INVESTED

A vest is the perfect way to layer, while still letting your sweater shine! The addition of a puffer vest on top of this Vineyard Vines varsity sweater added a delightful pop of color without taking away from the rest of the outfit. Plus, it helps to keep warm!

6. DOUBLE TROUBLE

Double the sweaters, double the cozy! I am a big fan of layering sweaters as well as throwing a sweater over your shoulders for an extra pop of color.

7. BEST DRESSED

Convert a dress to a skirt by adding a button-down and a cable sweater – easy peasy! I love the added depth, texture, and color this layering trick brought to the pink satin slip dress outfit above.

8. GET TO KNOW KNEE HIGHS

How to layer for cold weather on a budget? Try layering your footwear! Just a peak of a high sock brings a unique element to the outfit and provides extra warmth.

9. DON’T FORGET TO ACCESSORIZE

Layer necklaces, wear a watch on top of a sweater, or add a classic pair of earrings. There are so many ways to layer accessories. As I did with this Vineyard Vines look, adding a crossbody is always the perfect finishing touch!

10. MONOCHROMATIC LOVE

When layering for cool weather, don’t be scared to add monochromatic pieces. Pairing products in different shades of the same color is bold and fun! You can also break it up with pops of other colors in your accessories or in a collared shirt layered underneath.

Okay, now that I’ve shared some tips on how to layer for cold weather, I want to go back and highlight some additional Vineyard Vines pieces that I’m loving. There really are so many great ones this season!
Their cashmere cable knit sweater is super soft and such a great weight for fall. If you aren’t much of a cable gal, they also offer a great, easy crewneck sweater. Their new kick flare cords are a phenomenal fit and the wale of the cord and fabric weight are perfect! And don’t sleep on the Vineyard Vines Dreamcloth Collection for women. I especially love the quilted Dreamcloth pieces, which are perfect everyday pieces for running around town.
