FAQs
PERSONAL
Q: Where did you go to school and what did you study? How did you get into fashion?
A: I attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and studied Political Science and Business. I completed one fashion internship with Saks Fifth Avenue, and my senior year ended up applying to the Gap RMP program. I was so excited to be accepted into the nine-month training program! Throughout my nine months, I learned about production/vendor relations, inventory planning, and merchandising at the three of the largest parent brands: Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy. After my rotation, I ultimately went into merchandising at Old Navy. Four years later, in April of 2012 I moved to New York City to work in merchandising for Tory Burch HQ.
Q: Where do you live? Where are from?
A: I live in New York City. I am originally from Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C.
Q: Are you married?
A: Not yet! My fiancé, Andrew, and I have been together for quite some time. We got engaged recently but are taking our time wedding planning.
Q:How tall are you?
A: 5’7
BLOG
Q: When did you start your site and why?
A: I started my blog in April of 2010 while working in merchandising at Gap HQ. I saw how street style and bloggers were influencing the product and design decisions we were making at the time. Ultimately, I wanted to become a part of that conversation by creating a clean, straightforward visual diary of my style evolution.
Q: What camera and lenses do you use?
A: I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera body and typically shoot with two Canon lenses, either a EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM, or a EF 35mm f/1.4 L II USM. I have found B&H Camera to be my go-to resource.
Q: Who takes your photos?
A: My fiancé, Andrew, typically takes all my pictures. But over the years I have enlisted help from local photographers as well as my brother.
FASHION
Q: What are some of your favorite places to shop?
A: I love a good high-low mix, so when it comes to shopping the more eclectic the better. I have been a long time fan of well curated retailers such as Shopbop, Moda Operandi and Net-A-Porter. I love to hunt for more affordable pieces on ASOS, L’oiel, and Pixie Market. Some of my favorite brands include Tory Burch, Self-Portrait, Hunter, J.Crew, Club Monaco, Tibi and Current/Elliott.
TRAVEL
Q What are your favorite places to travel?
A: I only got my passport three years ago, but since then I have been extremely fortunate to see some amazing places. I absolutely love traveling to Asia, specifically Tokyo and Shanghai, they both rank in my top 5 favorite places I have ever been. Outside of those, I loved exploring Paris, Capri, and Monaco. Within the United States, I love San Francisco and New Orleans. Both are incredible cities with so many unique aspects to them. Weekends in wine country outside of San Francisco are also some of my fondest memories with friends and family!
