AN UPDATED Q&A

Every few months on Atlantic-Pacific I like to round up some new (and a few recurring) questions that I receive via comments, emails, and DMs. So today I am answering some of your most recently asked questions! You can also see older Q&A posts here, here, and here as well as visit many of my FAQ posts below. If I didn’t answer your question this time, please reach out and I will try my best to get to it!

Q: What is the best and worst part your job (being an influencer/creator)?

A: The best is the ability to wake up every day and do a job that I love and I am passionate about. It’s hard to beat that! The worst is how isolating and singular it can feel. I loved my corporate roles because I valued being on large teams, learning about myself as a manager as well as a direct report, and feeling like I was a part of something bigger than myself.

Q: You favorite black designer pump?

A: To be honest, I don’t wear a ton of black. But, I have owned multiple designer black pumps over the years and these have been my favorite. If you want the same shoe with slightly less height there is a 70mm option here. These are the most comfortable pump I have owned and love the suede (I am team suede over lambskin when it comes to a classic black pump) and I love that they are not branded.

Q: What are your favorite brands to work with?

A: I am not going to name specific brands but my favorite brands to collaborate with are brands that truly love my content and point of view and they want that to shine through in our partnership. When I am considering any partnership with a brand a lot of different factors come into play. First and foremost, the brand has to be an authentic fit to my style and the brand itself has to show interest in truly collaborating – versus dictating. I always try to find partners that are interested in creating content that fits within their brand filter as well as mine. Many times, it also comes down to timing, the scope of work, the fee/budget, and if the particular product they want to highlight is a good fit for me. Oftentimes, a brand that I may admire is looking to partner, but on a specific product or product category that doesn’t necessarily make sense for Atlantic-Pacific. At the end of the day, my goal, through the lens of fashion and style, is always to bring you the best content that I can, whether it be sponsored or non-sponsored.

Q: What do you miss the most about NYC and what do you love the most about living in Florida (not people based answers like friends, family, etc.)?

A: I really miss the energy and creativity of NYC. There is always new art to see, interesting people on the streets, and new cuisines to taste. I also miss the ability to walk around as a mode of transportation as opposed to driving. Lastly, I would say it was a bit easier to do my job in NYC with so many brands and based in the city and so many events taking place. Not to mention there are great photo ops around just about every corner of the city!

In Florida I love how relaxed and at ease I feel. The pace is slower and that is something I didn’t know I needed. I LOVE owning a home with a lot more indoor and outdoor space. Creatively it has been fun to decorate and design. In my everyday life I feel like having more space has been really great for me mentally. Lastly, I love being hot so this weather more than suits me. While I love fall/winter when it comes to fashion, I am fine to skip those seasons weather-wise.

Q: Do you have any under $300 fall coat suggestions?

A: Sure! There are quite a few good ones right now online – I am linking my top five favorites at the moment! I love this classic Navy peacoat that is under $100, this shawl collar coat, this longer length coat, this plaid cropped coat and this classic belted coat. It is still so early in the season and I am sure more great options will continue to pop up!

Q: What three words would your significant other use to describe you?

A: Good question. I just asked him and he said “Gracious, Determined, and Extraordinary”. 🙂

Q: Will you do another collection with Tuckernuck?

A: We don’t have anything in the works at the moment. Working with the Tuckernuck team was such a delight. I am so glad and thankful that so many people loved the product we created. Right now I am taking a bit of a step back from collaborations (creating co-branded products). This year I collaborated with LAKE in Q1 and then Tuckernuck in Q2 and while I enjoyed them both immensely they take a lot of effort and can be draining. So, I made the decision to not take on anything additional for the balance of the year. I want all of my collaborations to feel unique and special and never rushed!
